Mappings of hotels
Hotels Mappings module is a plug-in to Hotels Content Management module that allows grouping the same hotels from different suppliers. This might be useful if you would like to combine them altogether and show the best price for hotel among multiple suppliers.
With mappings of hotels you can:
Use predefined automatic mappings (when hotel name and address are the same);
Manually review and set grouping for the same hotels;
Automatically recognize duplicating hotels during search&book and return identifier that this is the same hotel.
Note that you can either use Hotels Mapping Tool (if you want to do mappings by yourself) to order
the mapping services from GP Solutions.
Manual mappings
If provided by different suppliers, one and the same hotel can have different names and as a result be displayed as several different hotels. With GP Travel Enterprise you can group identical hotels from different suppliers and display them as one offer. For this, you should add appropriate hotels in one group and specify the rules of displaying hotels of this group in contract settings.
For example, you have a direct contract with Hilton hotel in Prague. You also sell the same hotel as a part of your agreements with Hotelbeds, Tourico, GTA, and HotelsPro suppliers. In case grouping is not configured, this hotel will be displayed 5 times in different offers. To avoid that, you want all variants for this hotel to be displayed as one offer.
For that,
On the General settings menu click List of hotels.
Using the Search form at the top of the page, search for the required hotel (s):
Click Search. The list of hotel results appears:
The Group number column is empty. It means that the hotels displayed do not make up a single group, thus they are displayed in search results as several different offers.
4. To group hotels, select the required hotels:
5. Click Assign group. The following window appears:
6. In the group number window,
Locate mouse pointer into the Group number box to specify the custom group number.
Alternatively, click Get unique number to assign the group with the unique number generated by the system automatically.
In the Group number box you can use only numbers without spaces, dashes or other symbols.
7. Click Assign group. The Group number column displays the unique group number. The group of hotels is now displayed as one single offer:
GIATA mappings
In case one and the same hotel is provided by different suppliers, it can be displayed as several different offers. As it was mentioned previously, you can group such hotels manually and display them as one offer. Another alternative is to use GIATA mappings.
With GIATA mappings, such hotels are automatically grouped via GIATA. Each group is ascribe with a special code. The data on groups and their codes are automatically imported in GP Travel Enterprise.
To obtain GIATA mappings, you should:
Sign a direct contract with GIATA;
Get the credentials for importing data in GP Travel Enterprise;
Turn to GP technical support in order to request GIATA mappings feature;
Pass the credentials required for importing data to GP technical support;
In case GIATA mappings are available, you can access grouped hotels in the following way:
On the General settings menu, click List of hotels.
Search for the required city and/or hotel using the search form.
In the GIATA code column, you can view the code ascribed to the group. It indicated that this hotel underwent GIATA mappings and is included into a certain group.
In the Name column, click to view the list of hotels included in the group.The Hotel mappings window appears:
