Working with tourist products requires storing, tracking, and displaying important information regarding properties, transfers, excursions, and other products.

GP Travel Enterprise provides Tour Operators, Agency users, and Tourists with such functionality within the Tips module. Tips may be used for sharing with users different important information such as city guides, vaccination information or documents required information etc.

First, make sure the Tips module is turned on on your installation.

(warning)Tips configuration is currently available via administration panel.

General Tips configuration

To create a new Tip,

  1. navigate to General settings menu by clicking on the Gear sign → select Tips:

  1. click on Create button → New tip window appears:

  1. fill in the form:

    1. select the needed language and enter the title of the tip (ex. London Guide);

    2. enter the description;

    3. specify to whom the tip should be displayed (select the required user level by clicking on the corresponding radio button): 

      • within ‘clients’ you may specify the clients type to be displayed to,

      • within sales channels you may select a specific partner. Just click add and select the required ones.

    4. apply the conditions → select the product type the tip will be applied to (ex. For hotels). Click ‘+’ and specify the conditions by selecting them from the drop-downs in the fields. For ex. Selecting ‘City - equal - London’ means the created tip will be displayed to those who will book the hotel in London:

Repeat the condition setting for other types of products in case required.

e. Choose the type of document the tip will be displayed in (invoice or quotation);

f. add an attachment by clicking Upload a file or via the link;

g. click Save.

Tips configuration on particular product level

Tips may be set not only on the product type level (such as hotels, transfers etc) but also on the particular product level (for ex. tip can be set for a specific hotel).

To create a new tip for a particular product,

  1. navigate to Products → select a product (ex. a hotel);

  2. open a Tips tab of the selected product, click Create:

  1. fill in the form:

    1. Select the needed language and enter the title of the Tip (ex. Hotel rules).

    2. Enter the description (ex. ‘Smoking is prohibited in all rooms!’).

    3. Specify to whom the tip should be displayed (select the required user level by clicking on the corresponding radio button).

    4. You may apply the conditions in case needed: Click ‘+’ and specify the conditions by selecting them from the drop-downs in the fields. For example, you may limit the time of the tip validity:

e. For hotel services select the type of room the tip should be applied to.

f. Choose the type of document the tip will be displayed in (invoice or quotation).

g. Add an attachment in case needed.

  1. Click Save. The rule is stored in the list:

Tips displaying

To view the configured tips, initiate the search according to the indicated conditions and proceed to the booking.

The Tip is displayed on the booking for travelers along with the important information in the pop-up window. And the user may download all the necessary information:

Besides, Tips are displayed in Reservations:

  • Proceed with the booking;

  • open the reservation → scroll to the bottom: under the summary block on the right bottom corner of the page, the tip is displayed:

Tips are also displayed in the documents indicated in configuration (invoice or quotation).
